Albert Wayne Coy (1903-1957) was born in Shelby County, Indiana. He began his career as a newspaper reporter in 1919, receiving his A.B. from Franklin College in Indiana in 1926. After graduation, he worked as the city editor of the Franklin, Indiana, Star from 1926 to 1930, and was editor and publisher of the Delphi, Indiana, Citizen from 1930 to 1933.
